RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
AUTHORIZING THREE HOURS FREE PARKING IN CITY PARKING
FACILITIES LOCATED AT 1550 4T" STREET AND AT LINCOLN
AVENUE AND 5TH AVENUE BETWEEN THE DATES OF NOVEMBER
22, 2006 AND DECEMBER 31, 2006.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, the City wishes to encourage patronage of businesses in San
Rafael; and,
WHEREAS, convenient access to businesses and inexpensive parking
encourage retail activity and attract shoppers; and,
WHEREAS, businesses located on the east and west ends of the Downtown
San Rafael business district lack close access to gated parking facilities where
validations for free parking may be issued; and,
WHEREAS, the City operates metered surface lots at 1550 4th Street and at
Lincoln Avenue and 5th Avenue.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Parking Services Manager is
authorized to provide free parking for up to three hours per day, per vehicle at City
parking lots located at 1550 4th Street and at Lincoln and 5th Avenue between the dates
of November 22, 2006 and December 31, 2006.
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify that the
foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular
meeting of the City Council of said City held on 6th day of November, 2006 by the
following vote, to wit:
AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS: Cohen, Heller, Miller, Phillips & Mayor Boro
NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: None
