A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN
RAFAEL AUTHORIZING SUBMISSION OF A GRANT PROPOSAL AND
AGREEMENT WITH THE CALIFORNIA COASTAL COMMISSION
FOR A WHALE TAIL GRANT IN AMOUNT OF $38,000
WHEREAS, the City of San Rafael Volunteer Program is the lead member and fiscal agent of an
anti -litter campaign called San Rafael Clean; and
WHEREAS, the Campaign is in need of funds to support an ongoing outreach and marketing
program throughout the City; and
WHEREAS, the California Coastal Commission Whale Tail grant matches the intent and financial
liability of the Campaign's public outreach program;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council hereby:
1. Authorizes the submission of a grant proposal to the California Coastal Commission in the
amount of $38,000; and
2. Authorizes Cory Bytof, Volunteer Program Coordinator, to be the authorized representative
for this grant; and
3. Grants authority to enter into a contract with the California Coastal Commission should said
grant be approved.
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify that the foregoing
resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of
said City held on Monday, the 4th day of December, 2006, by the following vote, to wit:
