RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN
RAFAEL FORGIVING THE REMAINING INDEBTEDNESS OF
$209000 ON THE CITY'S LOAN TO THE MARIN BOCCE
FEDERATION FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE BOCCE BALL
COURTS AT THE ALBERT PARK BOCCE BALL COMPLEX
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL RESOLVES as follows:
WHEREAS, the Marin Bocce Federation has constructed and repaired 8 bocce courts, wrought
iron fencing, and related facilities at the Bocce Ball Complex in the City's Albert Park, at a cost
to the Federation in excess of $650,000; and
WHEREAS, the Marin Bocce Federation has maintained and operated the bocce courts at Albert
Park, and made them available for use by the public, for Bocce games, tournaments and leagues
under agreements with the City of San Rafael since 1994; and
WHEREAS, the City loaned the Marin Bocce Federation $55,000 for construction and repair of
the forgoing facilities at the Bocce Ball Complex, $35,000 of which has been repaid by the
Federation, leaving $20,000 now remaining due to the City under Section 5 of the Amended
Facility Use and Management Agreement for the Albert Park Bocce Ball Complex, dated
April 3, 2000; and
WHEREAS, the Marin Bocce Federation estimates that it expends $25,000 annually for the
maintenance and operation costs associated with the Albert Park Bocce Complex; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to recognize the Marin Bocce Federation's past
contributions to the City in constructing and maintaining the Bocce Ball Complex facilities that
have benefited all the citizens of the City, and to assist the Federation in meeting its future costs
for regular maintenance and repair of the existing Bocce Ball Complex facilities, as well as the
future costs for organizing and administering the Bocce games, tournaments and leagues for the
benefit of all the citizens of the City;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED the City Council of the City of San Rafael hereby
forgives and waives the Marin Bocce Federation's obligation to repay the $20,000 now
remaining due to the City under Section 5 of the Amended Facility Use and Management
Agreement for the Albert Park Bocce Ball Complex, dated April 3, 2000.

foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the
City Council of said City held on Monday, the 21 st day of March, 2005 by the following vote, to
wit:
