CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
MESENTS THIS
RESUhUTION OF APPRECIATION
TO
PEACOCK GARDEN CLUB
WHEREAS, the National Arbor Day Foundation has designated the City of
San Rafael as a Tree City USA, and the City of San Rafael takes great pride in its urban
reforestation program; and
WHEREAS, trees reduce erosion of our precious topsoil by wind and water,
cutting heating and cooling costs, moderate the temperature, clean the air, produce oxygen
and provide habitat for wildlife, and
WHEREAS, the Peacock Garden Club has demonstrated its commitment to
the citizens of San Rafael by participating in the planning, coordination, and tree planting
activities that commemorate the Arbor Day Celebration; and
WHEREAS, the Council would like to acknowledge those many years of
service, and financial contributions to the City of San Rafael from the Peacock Garden Club
towards the purchase of those special Arbor Day trees. This year the trees will be planted at
Munson Park on April 28, 2005.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that the Mayor and
City Council of the City of San Rafael hereby expresses sincere appreciation to the Peacock
Garden Club for its contributions that have made the quality of life better for the citizens of
San Ra:
