A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SAN RAFAEL AUTHORIZING THE TEMPORARY
CLOSURE OF CITY STREETS FOR THE
SAN RAFAEL FIESTA DAYS 2005
ON SEPTEMBER 24TH AND 25TH, 2005
WHEREAS, San Rafael Fiesta Days 2005 necessitates the temporary closure of city streets as specified below:
1. Fifth Avenue from B Street to Court Street from 10:00 p.m. Friday, September 23rd, until 10:00 p.m.
Sunday, September 251h.
2. Julia Street and A Street from 8:00 p.m. Friday, September 23rd until 10:00 p.m. Sunday, September 251h
Meters will be posted "No Parking" from 8 a.m. to allow for equipment deliveries. Tenant access to
parking lots on Julia Street will be available for the duration of the event.
3. Team Pro Events may also use the Downtown City Plaza as an Information/Sponsor area beginning on
Friday, September 23rd for setup and ending Sunday evening, September 25"'
WHEREAS, after reviewing plans for the event and the traffic patterns, City staff has determined and
recommended that, in the interest of the safety and welfare of pedestrian and auto traffic in the Downtown area,
the above streets should be temporarily closed to through traffic for the dates and times described above.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
1. That all of the above findings are true and correct;
2. That, pursuant to the authority of Vehicle Code section 21101(e), for the safety and protection of persons,
both pedestrians and vehicle drivers, the City Council hereby authorizes the temporary closure of the above
listed streets for the dates and times described above.
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of San Rafael,
held on Monday, the second day of May 2005, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers: Cohen, Miller, Phillips and Mayor Boro
NOES: Councilmembers: None
ABSENT: Councilmembers: Heller
