RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL APPROVING
THE SOLE -SOURCE PURCHASE OF TWENTY-ONE POLICE DEPARTMENT
PATROL COMPUTERS FOR $48,000.75 FROM PALOMAR DISPLAY PRODUCTS OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA.
Whereas, the use of mobile computers by patrol officers is critical to the mission
of the Police Department; and,
Whereas, the existing mobile computer systems have reached their end of life
and require upgrade; and,
Whereas, computers compatible with existing vehicle mounted displays are only
available from Palomar Display Products, Inc, and,
Whereas, the City Council finds it is appropriate to waive public bidding pursuant
to Section 2.55.070D of the San Rafael Municipal Code, and to authorize a sole -
source purchase from Palomar Display Products, Inc., since the same vehicle -
mounted computer system is only available from that source;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Manager of said City be
authorized and directed to execute a purchase order or agreement, in a form
approved by the City Attorney, for the purchase of twenty-one vehicle -mounted
computers with Palomar Display Products, Inc. in the amount of $48,000.75.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Assistant City Manager is hereby
authorized to take any and all such actions and make changes and expedite
such agreements, in a form approved by the City Attorney, as may be necessary
to accomplish the purpose of this resolution.
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify that the
foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular
meeting of the San Rafael City Council meeting held on the third day of October,
2005 by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS: Cohen, Heller, Miller, Phillips & Mayor Boro
NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: alone
ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: gone
