RESOLUTION OF THE SAN RAFAEL CITY COUNCIL APPROVING USE OF
STATE HOMELAND SECURITY FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $22,640 FOR
EQUIPMENT PURCHASE
Whereas, the State of California, Office of Emergency Services granted the
County of Marin Sheriff Office of Emergency Services $767,955 in grant funds;
and,
Whereas, this grant money may be spent to pay costs associated with the
Homeland Security emergency preparedness in Marin County during Fiscal Year
2006; and,
Whereas, the City of San Rafael Police Department has identified the need for
special equipment to enhance the ability of the Department to respond to
emergency situations more effectively and efficiently; and,
Whereas, the Department will use those funds for a rescue telephone, trailer,
gas masks and filters, radio accessories and helmets;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council approves the use
of $22,640 in grant funds.
I, Jeanne M. Leoncini, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify that the
foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular
meeting of the San Rafael City Council meeting held on the 21th day of
November 2005 by the following vote, to wit:
