RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
ACCEPTING A SOLE -SOURCE QUOTATION (PER SECTION 11.50.090 OF
CITY MUNICIPAL CODE) FROM ECONOLITE CONTROL PRODUCTS FOR
PURCHASE OF TRAFFIC SIGNAL CABINETS AND CONTROLLERS IN THE
AMOUNT OF $83,719.35 AND AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC
WORKS TO EXECUTE THE PURCHASE AGREEMENT.
WHEREAS, per Section 11.50.090 of the San Rafael Municipal Code a sole
source quote was obtained; and
WHEREAS, new technology for traffic control systems enables the City of
San Rafael to efficiently operate the traffic signal system; and
WHEREAS, the new technology will save City funds in long term; and
WHEREAS, staff waived the necessity to publish the invitation for proposals
because this is a sole source product; and
WHEREAS, Econolite Control Products traffic signal system and equipment
system is the City's current operating system and staff is fully satisfied with its
performance;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
San Rafael that the traffic signal equipment provided by Econolite Control Products is
accepted and the City Council does hereby authorize the Director of Public Works to enter
into a purchasing agreement with Econolite Control Products in a form approved by the
City Attorney and in an amount not to exceed $83,719.35.

that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular
meeting of the Council of said City on the 17th day of February, 2004, by the following
vote, to wit:
