Rafael who, through their dedcated and se6Tess efforts, have hada significant effect on the quality of Czfe
in their community; and
WMETS, Dorothy Vesecky has 6een selected as the recipient of the RichardP. O Brien Citizen of the
Tear award due to her community involvement and accomphAments in the areas of community 6uilding,
recreation and social equity, and
%-Y&rM, Dorothy has 6een a resident of the Canal neigh6orhood since 1985, and
`W MM31 S, Dorothy has 6een Chairperson of the TickleweedAdvisory Board since 1999, fostering
community involvement in the Centers programming, rehabilitation of its playing fields and planning for its
expansion, and
`WJpERW, Dorothy has fostered the cele6ration of cultural diversity in many ways, including
organization of the first Dia de la W uertos celebration, and
`W'JpERS, Dorothy has 6een a tireless supporter of adequate housing and the rights of renters, and is a
member of the Wartin TenantsAssociation, and
`W ORM, !Dorothy has 6een an advocate forsocialservices through her service on the Boardof Directors
of the Canal CommunityAlliance and the CanarW inistry, and
%JLtERS, !Dorothy's community involvement has 6een characterized by her passion, multi -cultural
awareness, dedication to her community, and humility,
NW, VERBEM BE ITWOL`NED that the San Rafael City Council expresses its appreciation of
Dorothy vesecky's efforts on behalf of her community and hereby awards her the Richard (P. O Brien Citizen
of the TearAward.
