RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL APPROVING A
STREET NAME CHANGE TO ALLOW THE LAST 3/10s OF A MILE OF PROFESSIONAL
CENTER PARKWAY NORTH OF CHANNING WAY TO BE RENAMED STERLING WAY
(PO4-002)
WHEREAS, on March 1, 2004, the Northview Homeowners Association submitted an
application requesting a street name change for the last 3/10s of a mile of Professional Center
Parkway; and
WHEREAS, consistent with the requirements of Section 15.06.060 Sheet names of the
San Rafael Municipal Code, the Community Development, Fire, Police and Public Works
Departments and the U.S. Postal Service reviewed the proposed change and it was determined
that Sterling Way would be an acceptable new street name; and
WHEREAS, a courtesy notice of the City Council meeting was sent to property owners
along that portion of Professional Center Parkway that would be affected by the proposed street
name change; and
WHEREAS, on May 3, 2004, the City Council considered the proposed street name
change accepting all public comment and the written report of the Department of Community
Development.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of San
Rafael does hereby approve the proposed street name change to allow the last 3/10s of a mile of
Professional Center Parkway to be renamed Sterling Way subject to the following conditions of
approval:
1. This approval shall allow Professional Center Parkway north of Channing Way to be renamed
Sterling Way.
2. The Northview Homeowners Association shall be responsible for the cost of a new street
sign(s) and shall coordinate with the Public Works Department on the installation of the new
street sign(s).

Resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the City
Council of the City of San Rafael, held on Monday, the 3`d day of May 2004, by the following
vote, to wit:

NOES: Councilmembers: None
