RESOLUTION NO. 11534
CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
PRESENTS THIS
RESOLUTION OF flPPRECIflT1ON
TO
SHIRLEY FISCHER
WHEREAS, Shirley Fischer has had a long history as a community leader and volunteer for the
North San Rafael Community; and
WHEREAS, Shirley was a founding member of the North San Rafael Coalition of Residents,
serving as Chairperson and Board member for many years, and
WHEREAS, Shirley has worked on many key projects in North San Rafael, such as the Merrydale
Overcrossing, Frietas Parkway Interchange, Vision North San Rafael and as an active member of
the Vision in Action Committee; and
WHEREAS, Shirley has helped foster better communication and understanding on issues
important to the residents of North San Rafael and the City; and
WHEREAS, Shirley is widely respected for her analytic skills and perseverance in seeking public
improvements in North San Rafael; and
WHEREAS, Shirley is now stepping down from public advocacy to pursue other interests.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of San Rafael on
behalf of its residents, hereby expresses its heartfelt appreciation for the many contributions,
dedication and volunteer hours Shirley Fischer has made to her neighborhood, to the North San
Rafael Community and to the City of San Rafael, making each a better place to live.
FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council wishes Shirley well on her life's new
endeavors.
