CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
PRESENTS THIS
RESOLUTION OF flPPREC1flT10N
TO
BRIGITTE MORAN
ON THE FIFTEENTH ANNIVERSARY
OF THE
DOWNTOWN FARMERS' MARKET FESTIVAL
WHEREAS, In 1989, Brigitte Moran worked tirelessly with the Downtown merchants, City
staff and the San Rafael community to open the Downtown Farmers' Market
Festival on Fourth Street; and
WHEREAS, The Farmers' Market has grown from 26 vendors to over 200, from 2 blocks
to 5 blocks, and from a few hundred nightly attendees to over 5,000
attendees each week, showcasing the heart and soul of San Rafael; and
WHEREAS, The Farmers' Market has become an opportunity for community gathering,
celebration and festivities for people of all ages and backgrounds; and
WHEREAS, The Farmers' Market has helped to promote and revitalize the Downtown
and has contributed to the cultural and economic life of San Rafael; and
WHEREAS, Brigitte continues to keep the Farmers' Market flourishing through her event
management skills, people skills, and her indomitable spirit and enthusiasm.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council of the City of
San Rafael hereby present this resolution of appreciation to Brigitte Moran, of Chez Brigitte
LLC, in celebration of the successful fifteen years of Downtown Farmers' Market Festival
operations and express sincere appreciation for the efforts involved in making the Market a
resounding success.
