RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
AUTHORIZING THE TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF EDGEWOOD WAY FROM
FAIRHILLS DRIVE TO THE END FOR A MOCK DISASTER DRILL ON JUNE
12, 2004 FROM 8:00 A.M. UNTIL 4:00 P.M.
WHEREAS, the City of San Rafael wishes to train and develop teams of
residents to maintain safety and control of their neighborhoods during times of
disaster when police and fire services will not be available for extended periods
of time; and
WHEREAS, an important and necessary part of the training program will
be to stage a mock disaster drill to measure the effectiveness of the training and
to uncover any areas where additional training will be needed; and
WHEREAS, most of the residents have given written approval of a street
closure and no residents have objected; and
WHEREAS, it will be necessary to close Edgewood Way in order to
protect the safety of the residents and trainers involved in the drill;
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL HEREBY RESOLVES
AS FOLLOWS:
1. That all of the above findings are true and correct.
2. That pursuant to the authority of Vehicle Code section 21011(e), for
the safety and protection of persons, both pedestrians and vehicle
drivers, the City Council hereby authorizes the temporary closure of
the above listed street for the date and time described above.
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, City Clerk of the City of San Rafael hereby certify
that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted
at a regular meeting of the City Council of said City held on Monday the
Seventeenth day of May, 2004 by the following vote to wit:

NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: None
