RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
AUTHORIZING THE TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF MISSION AVENUE BETWEEN
C STREET AND E STREET AND THE MENZIES PARKING LOT
FOR FALKIRK'S 30TH ANNIVERSARY EVENT
W1 IEREAS, Falkirk's 30th Anniversary Victorian Lawn Party necessitates the temporary
closure of the Menzies Parking Lot and Mission Avenue between C Street and E Street
on Saturday, June 26, 2004, from 9:00 AM — 6:00 PM; and
WHEREAS, after reviewing plans for the event and the traffic patterns, City staff has
determined and recommended that, in the interest of the safety and welfare of pedestrian
and auto traffic in the downtown area as well as safe load in and set up of the event, the
above street and parking lot should be temporarily closed to through traffic for the date
and time described above: and
WHEREAS, Mission Avenue and the Menzies Parking Lot have been closed in the same
manner in past years with success for this and similar events;
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL HEREBY RESOLVES AS
FOLLOWS:
1. That all of the above findings are true and correct;
2. That, pursuant to the authority of the Vehicle Code section 21101 (e), for the
protection of persons, both pedestrians and vehicle drivers, the City Council
hereby authorizes the temporary closure of the above listed street and parking
lot for the date and time described above.
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, City Clerk of the City of San Rafael hereby certify that the
foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a Regular meeting
of the City Council of said City held on Monday, the twenty-first day of June, 2004, by
the following vote to wit:
AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS: Cohen, Heller, Miller, Phillips & Mayor Boro
NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: None
ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: None
