RESOLUTION NO. 11657
CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
PRESENTS THIS
RESOUITION OF 11PPRECIRTION
TO

WHEREAS, Public Safety Officers, Fire and Police, respond to emergencies and take risk for
all citizens' safety and welfare; and
WHEREAS, Jesus Anguiano, a citizen, traveling near an emergency took the same risks for
)w man on August 15, 2004, at approximately 11:30 PM; and
WHEREAS, Jesus Anguiano drove from Highway 101 to the scene of a car fire he had seen
on a nearby side street; and
WHEREAS, Jesus Anguiano arrived on the scene of 55 Bellam Boulevard and saw fellow
citizens endangered in a burning car and took immediate action; and
WHEREAS, Jesus Anguiano, with no regard for his own personal safety, approached the
car, and assisted one victim from the burning car to safety; and
WHEREAS, Jesus Anguiano, approached the car again, and tried to assist the other victim
from the car; and
WHEREAS, Jesus Anguiano, with heat unbearable from the burning automobile, was unable
to rescue the second victim
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of San Rafael City Council on behalf
of its residents, hereby expresses its heartfelt appreciation for Jesus Anguiano's selfless act of
courage. Acts like those of Jesus Anguiano are examples of the contributions that make San Rafael
a better place to live.
FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of San Rafael wishes Jesus Anguiano well in his
future and his continued example of selfless citizenship.
