Patrick J. Webb
WHEREAS, Patrick Webb has served on the San Rafael Park and Recreation Commission for twenty-one years; and
WHEREAS, During his tenure San Rafael has expanded its park inventory with Peacock, Starkweather Shoreline,
Hartzel, Mahon Creek Parks and Los Ranchitos Park and influenced the renovations of Albert, Pickleweed, Freitas,
Boyd, Santa Margarita, Gerstle (twice) Bret Harte, and Bernard Hoffman Parks, Albert Tennis Court Complex, the
Falkirk Grounds Masterplan and the transfer of San Rafael Ridge to permanent Open Space; and
WHEREAS, He was instrumental in the development of the Pickleweed Playing Fields, Parkside Child Care Center,
Terra Linda Community Pool, Parkside Child Care Center, Lonatese Gardens, Marin Bocce Complex and
Pickleweed Park Community Center; and
WHEREAS, Patrick has contributed insight and wisdom through three economic down cycles; and
WI IEREAS, Patrick negotiated hundreds of neighborhood issues regarding parks and recreation issues with fair and
honest application; and
W1 IEREAS, Patrick contributed thousands of volunteer hours on the San Rafael Downtown Vision; the North San
Rafael Vision, the 1980 General Plan Committee and the Citizens Task Force on St Vincent's/Silveira Properties -
TWYCE, and continues with the Critical Facilities Advisory Group; and
WHEREAS, Patrick maintains a self fulfilling prophecy, "If They Meet, I will Come"; and
WHEREAS, Patrick served the City of San Rafael with the grace of a diplomat, the protectiveness of a parent, the
vision of a Blue Sky Thinker, the practicality of a mechanic, and the honesty that comes from great integrity;
making certain along the way each solution advanced and improved the quality of life in San Rafael;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council hereby expresses its heartfelt appreciation for
Patrick Webb's service on the Park and Recreation Commission and to our community.
