Where R,, Phyllis Huffman has been an employee of the City of San Rafael since January 22, 1985
working in the Police Department and the Human Resources Division of the Management Services
Department during this time; performing in a number of different positions including, Administrative Aide
to the Chief of Police, Police Business Office Aide, Personnel Technician and Human Resources Analyst;
and
Whereas, Phyllis has provided exceptional service in her positions and has always been willing to
find time to contribute as a member of a number of departmental and city-wide committees, such as the
Police Department's Project Team for SR Card, City Hall Outreach Committee, Wellness Committee,
Employee Recognition Committee, and the Information Systems Committee; and
Whereat, Phyllis was named the Employee of the Year in 1998 for her work ethic which was
described as epitomizing the standard which defines the employee who is willing to extend themselves for
others; and
Where,G , Phyllis has been instrumental in the development and implementation of a number of
technology improvements for the City such as the Eden HR/Payroll System, the Human Resources web
page, Human Resources' on-line application filing system, and the CalPERS Health Benefit ACES
system; and
Whe4-ea4; Phyllis can now be unveiled as the humorous author behind the "Aunt Blabby" column in
the City's Employee Newsletter; and
Whereas, Phyllis will be greatly missed by the staff that have worked with her and by the employees
and retirees she provided such great service to in her Human Resources position;
Nou therefare, IJP X resaWe& that the Mayor and City Council of the City of San Rafael
recognize PhyU&k Uu f fivna yv for her 18 years of dedicated and loyal service to the City of San
Rafael and congratulate her on her retirement.
