CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
PRESENTS THIS
RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION
TO
BOB McEACHERN
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL RESOLVES as follows:
WHEREAS, Bob began his employment with the City of San Rafael as an entry
level mechanic on January 16, 1962; and
WHEREAS, Bob has been an employee in good standing for 41 years having
worked his entire career in the Vehicle Maintenance Division of the Public Works Department;
and
WHEREAS, Bob has served as a reserve Police Officer for 29 years; and
WHEREAS, Bob has served as a volunteer deckhand on the City of San Rafael
Marine Patrol boat the "Mission City" for 20 years; and
WHEREAS, Bob still refers to motorized vehicles as "horseless carriages"; and
WHEREAS, Bob has been around for so long he has been a personal advisor to
Henry Ford; and
WHEREAS, Bob's true age can only be measured by carbon dating; and
WHEREAS, Bob has serviced and maintained the City's vehicle fleet changing
thousands of spark plugs and using many barrels of oil; and
WHEREAS, Bob has worked above and beyond the call of duty in emergencies
and floods keeping emergency vehicles operational and making field calls as necessary.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of San
Rafael that the City Council hereby congratulates Bob McEachem on his long and valuable
service to the City of San Rafael.
RESOLVED, FURTHER, that the Council does hereby warmly thank Bob for
his long service and wishes him the very best in his well
