A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
AMENDING RESOLUTION 6728 AND ESTABLISHING THE LIST OF
SIDEWALKS, STREETS, PARKING STRUCTURES AND PUBLIC PLACES
WITHIN THE CITY WHERE THE USE OF SKATEBOARDS, ROLLER
SKATES, BICYCLES AND ELECTRIC PERSONAL ASSISTIVE MOBILITY
DEVICES ARE RESTRICTED
WHEREAS, Chapter 5.34 of the San Rafael Municipal Code, as recently amended,
regulates the use of skateboards, roller skates, bicycles and electric personal assistive mobility
devices on sidewalks and in certain other public places of the City and requires that this Council
establish those restricted areas by resolution; and
WHEREAS, this Council previously established a list of such restricted areas for
skateboards, roller skates and bicycles by Resolution 6728 and now desires to amend this resolution
to expand the restricted areas for skateboards, roller skates and bicycles, and to make such restricted
areas applicable to electric personal assistive mobility devices; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the operation of skateboards, roller skates, bicycles,
and electric personal assistive mobility devices on certain City sidewalks and in certain other public
places may adversely affect the use of such sidewalks and public places by pedestrians.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the riding of skateboards, roller skates, and
bicycles, and the use of electric personal assistive mobility devices, is prohibited on the sidewalks
on Fourth Street between "H" Street and Grand Avenue, in the Court Street Plaza between Fourth
Street and Fifth Avenue, and in and on the City parking structures located at Third Street and "A"
Street, Fifth Avenue and "C" Street, and to be located at Third and " C" Street.

resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of said
City on Monday, the 21St day of April, 2003, by the following vote, to wit:
