MICHAEL ANGELI
WHEREAS, On May 10, 2003, a major exercise involving Weapons of Mass Destruction was
conducted at the Marin County Civic Center to test the effectiveness of responding
Marin and Sonoma County public safety personnel; and
WHEREAS, The exercise involved Fire, Police, Emergency Medical personnel, area hospitals
throughout Marin County and fire personnel from Sonoma County all totaling 250
participants; and
WHEREAS, Division Chief Michael Angeli was selected by the Joint Planning Team as Incident
Commander; and
WHEREAS, Chief Angeli provided the knowledge, commitment and experience that was well suited
to assume the roll of Incident Commander; and
WHEREAS, Chief Angeli expended countless hours in planning the event, ensuring the Hazardous
Material Team and fire personnel were adequately trained and had the knowledge, skills
and ability to respond to a WMD incident; and
WHEREAS, Chief Angeli is providing immeasurable support to the Marin County Fire Departments,
Hazardous Material Team members and hospitals in recommending training and
equipment requirements,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council express their appreciation
and gratitude for his unending work in planning the exercise and preparing Public Safety personnel and
hospitals to respond to such an event which resulted in a successful exercise.
