A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN
RAFAEL AUTHORIZING MATCHING FUNDS NOT TO EXCEED
$100,000 FOR THE SANTA MARGARITA CREEK IMPROVEMENTS
(DEL GANADO DITCH)
BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of San Rafael as follows:
WHEREAS, the City budgeted $50,000 for FY 2001 and 2002 for
Neighborhood Partnering Projects; and
WHEREAS, the Santa Margarita Homeowners' Association (SMHA)
requested the City Council to consider a median partnering project for Del Ganado Road
from Freitas Parkway to Las Raposas, a.k.a. Santa Margarita Creek Improvements and Del
Ganado Ditch; and
WHEREAS, the City authorized the design work to be performed by Don
Blayney and Associates in November 2001; and
WHEREAS, the estimated cost of the improvement work was
approximately $200,000; and
and
WHEREAS, the SMHA committed to raising $100,000 for the project;
WHEREAS, the SMHA requested that the City consider matching their
fund raising efforts on a 50150 basis not to exceed $100,000; and
WHEREAS, the SMHA has raised $100,000 towards the project and has
requested the City to consider matching their funds.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
San Rafael that it commends the SMHA on its fund raising efforts and authorizes
matching funds in an amount not to exceed $100,000 towards this project.
RESOLVED, FURTHER, that the funds will be allocated as follows:
$50,000 from Stormwater Account and $50,000 from the Gas Tax Account.

resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of
said City on the 16`h day of June, 2003, by the following vote, to wit:

NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: None
ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: Cohen
