CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
PRESENTS THIS
RESOMITION OF 11PPREEIRTION
TO
ANN BATMAN
WHEREAS, Ann Batman has been active in San Rafael as a former member of the
Planning Commission and as a former member of the Cultural Affairs
Commission. She is an active member of the League of Women Voters, a
volunteer at Falkirk, and a member of the Board of Ritter House; and
WHEREAS, in May, 2000, Ann was appointed by the San Rafael City Council to the San
Rafael General Plan 2020 Steering Committee charged with preparing a
recommended draft General Plan for San Rafael; and
WHEREAS, Ann served as a representative to balance the various interests and act as a
visionary for the broader San Rafael community; and
WHEREAS, in addition to the Steering Committee meetings, Ann served on the Quality of
Life Task Group and Mapping Subcommittee as well as Steering Committee
Co-chair; and
WHEREAS, Ann dedicated three years to a community planning effort to create the goals,
policies and programs of San Rafael General Plan 2020.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council hereby express
sincere appreciation and gratitude to Ann Batman for her substantial contributions to prepare
the draft San Rafael General Plan 2020 and for her vision for the betterment of the San Rafael
community. Small wonder that we are wont to exclaim: "We are living well in San Rafael."
