CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
PRESENTS THIS
RESOLUTION OF 11PPRECUITION
TO
CHRISE DETOURNAY BIRKHAHN
WHEREAS, Chrise DeTournay Birkhahn has been active in San Rafael as a resident of
the Sun Valley Neighborhood, is an active member of the Davidson Middle
School PTA and the Bay Marin Church, and is a volunteer with Meals of
Marin and Beyond Hunger; and
WHEREAS, in October, 2001, Chrise was appointed by the San Rafael City Council to
the San Rafael General Plan 2020 Steering Committee charged with
preparing a recommended draft General Plan for San Rafael; and '
WHEREAS, Chrise served as a representative to balance the various interests and act as a
visionary for the broader San Rafael community; and
WHEREAS, in addition to attending the Steering Committee meetings, Chrise served on
the Our Neighborhoods and Homes Task Group as well as the Outreach
Subcommittee; and
WHEREAS, Chrise dedicated 21 months to a community planning effort to create the
goals, policies and programs of San Rafael General Plan 2020.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council hereby express
sincere appreciation and gratitude to Chrise DeTournay Birkhahn for her contributions to
prepare the draft San Rafael General Plan 2020 and for her vision for the betterment of the San
Rafael community. Small wonder that we are wont to exclaim: "We are living well in San
Rafael."
