CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
PRESENTS THIS
RESOWITION OF APPRECIATION
TO
LEE BUCKNER
WHEREAS, Lee Buckner is a Marin County native and a resident and member of the
Peacock Gap Neighborhood Association. Lee is also involved with the
University Club, the Association for Corporate Growth and Marin Primary
School; and
WHEREAS, in May, 2000, Lee was appointed by the San Rafael City Council to the San
Rafael General Plan 2020 Steering Committee charged with preparing a
recommended draft General Plan for San Rafael; and
WHEREAS, Lee served as a representative to balance the various interests and act as a
visionary for the broader San Rafael community; and
WHEREAS, in addition to attending the Steering Committee meetings, Lee served on the
Our Neighborhoods and Homes Task Group as well as Steering Committee
Co-chair; and
WHEREAS, Lee dedicated three years to a community planning effort to create the goals,
policies and programs of San Rafael General Plan 2020.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council hereby express
sincere appreciation and gratitude to Lee Buckner for his substantial contributions to prepare
the draft San Rafael General Plan 2020 and for his vision for the betterment of the San Rafael
community. Small wonder that we are wont to exclaim: "We are living well in San Rafael."
