CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
PRESENTS THIS
RESOWITION OF IIPPRECIdTION
TO
KATE COLIN
WHEREAS, Kate Colin has been active in San Rafael as a resident of the Fairhills
Neighborhood and as a member of the Redevelopment Citizens Advisory
Committee as well as being involved as a "Stay at Home Mom"; and
WHEREAS, in May, 2000, Kate was appointed by the San Rafael City Council to the San
Rafael General Plan 2020 Steering Committee charged with preparing a
recommended draft General Plan for San Rafael; and
WHEREAS, Kate served as a representative to balance the various interests and act as a
visionary for the broader San Rafael community; and
WHEREAS, in addition to attending the Steering Committee meetings, Kate served on the
Our Neighborhoods and Homes Task Group, the Outreach Subcommittee, as
well as Steering Committee Co-chair; and
WHEREAS, Kate dedicated three years to a community planning effort to create the
goals, policies and programs of San Rafael General Plan 2020.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council hereby express
sincere appreciation and gratitude to Kate Colin for her contributions to prepare the draft San
Rafael General Plan 2020 and for her vision for the betterment of the San Rafael community.
Small wonder that we are wont to exclaim: "We are living well in San Rafael."
