TO
MARK LUBAMERSKY
WHEREAS, Mark Lubamersky has been active in San Rafael as a member of the Bret
Harte Neighborhood Association, as a teacher at Madrone High School, as
Athletic Director of San Rafael High School and as a member of the San
Rafael Park and Recreation Commission; and
WHEREAS, in May, 2000, Mark was appointed by the San Rafael City Council to the San
Rafael General Plan 2020 Steering Committee charged with preparing a
recommended draft General Plan for San Rafael; and
WHEREAS, Mark served as a representative to balance the various interests and act as a
visionary for the broader San Rafael community; and
WHEREAS, in addition to attending the Steering Committee meetings, Mark served on
the Neighborhoods and Homes Task Group and the Mapping Subcommittee
as well as Steering Committee Co-chair; and
WHEREAS, Mark dedicated three years to a community planning effort to create the
goals, policies and programs of San Rafael General Plan 2020.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council hereby express
sincere appreciation and gratitude to Mark Lubamersky for his substantial contributions to
prepare the draft San Rafael General Plan 2020 and for his vision for the betterment of the San
Rafael community. Small wonder that we are wont to exclaim: "We are living well in San
Rafael."
