CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
PRESENTS THIS
RESOMITION DF 11PPREEIRTION
TO
STEVE PATTERSON
WHEREAS, Steve Patterson has been active in San Rafael as a member of the Gerstle
Park Neighborhood and as co-founder and past president of the Federation of
San Rafael Neighborhoods; and
WHEREAS, in May, 2000, Steve was appointed by the San Rafael City Council to the
San Rafael General Plan 2020 Steering Committee charged with preparing a
recommended draft General Plan for San Rafael; and
WHEREAS, Steve served as a representative to balance the various interests and act as a
visionary for the broader San Rafael community; and
WHEREAS, in addition to attending the Steering Committee meetings, Steve served on
the Neighborhoods and Homes Task Group as well as the Document
Subcommittee; and
WHEREAS, Steve dedicated three years to a community planning effort to create the
goals, policies and programs of San Rafael General Plan 2020.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council hereby express
sincere appreciation and gratitude to Steve Patterson for his substantial contributions to prepare
the draft San Rafael General Plan 2020 and for his vision for the betterment of the San Rafael
community. Small wonder that we are wont to exclaim: "We are living well in San Rafael."
