PRESENTS THIS
RESOWITION DF APPRECIATION
TO

WHEREAS, Larry Paul has been active in San Rafael as a member of the Santa Margarita
Neighborhood Association and has served on the Downtown Advisory
Group, the Downtown Vision Committee, the St. Vincent's/Silveira
Advisory Task Force, the North San Rafael Vision Steering Committee and
the Vision in Action Committee. Larry is a former member of San Rafael's
Design Review Board and is currently a Planning Commissioner; and
WHEREAS, in May, 2000, Larry was appointed by the San Rafael City Council to the
San Rafael General Plan 2020 Steering Committee charged with preparing a
recommended draft General Plan for San Rafael; and
WHEREAS, Larry served as a representative to balance the various interests and act as a
visionary for the broader San Rafael community; and
WHEREAS, in addition to attending the Steering Committee meetings, Larry served on
the Our Neighborhoods and Homes Task Group and the Mapping
Subcommittee as well as Co-chair; and
WHEREAS, Larry dedicated three years to a community planning effort to create the
goals, policies and programs of San Rafael General Plan 2020.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council hereby express
sincere appreciation and gratitude to Larry Paul for his substantial contributions to prepare the
draft San Rafael General Plan 2020 and for his vision for the betterment of the San Rafael
community. Small wonder that we are wont to exclaim: "We are living well in San Rafael."
