CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
PRESENTS THIS
RESOUNIGN OF 11PPRECIRTION
TO
DICK WATTS
WHEREAS, Dick Watts has been active in San Rafael as a resident and member of the
Sun Valley Neighborhood, a member of the Federation of San Rafael
Neighborhoods and the San Rafael Police Department Citizens' Advisory
Committee, as well as serving on the Subcommittee on the Homeless; and
WHEREAS, in May, 2000, Dick was appointed by the San Rafael City Council to the San
Rafael General Plan 2020 Steering Committee charged with preparing a
recommended draft General Plan for San Rafael; and
WHEREAS, Dick served as a representative to balance the various interests and act as a
visionary for the broader San Rafael community; and
WHEREAS, in addition to attending the Steering Committee meetings, Dick served on the
Our Neighborhoods and Homes Task Group as well as the Document
Subcommittee; and
WHEREAS, Dick dedicated three years to a community planning effort to create the
goals, policies and programs of San Rafael General Plan 2020.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council hereby express
sincere appreciation and gratitude to Dick Watts for his substantial contributions to prepare the
draft San Rafael General Plan 2020 and for his vision for the betterment of the San Rafael
community. Small wonder that we are wont to exclaim: "We are living well in San Rafael."
