A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN
RAFAEL AWARDING PURCHASE ORDER FOR THREE FORD
POLICE CARS TO DOWNTOWN FORD SALES IN THE AMOUNT
OF $80,299.15
BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of San Rafael as follows:
WHEREAS, the existing fleet vehicles have met their lifecycle
requirements for replacement; and
WHEREAS, the Fleet Advisory Board reviewed bid documents and
vehicle life; and
WHEREAS, the City, as a participant in the California Multiple Award
Schedule Contracts, also known as State Bids, is exempt from advertising for these
vehicles. They are listed on the State Bid forms and have gone through the State Bid
process, and
WHEREAS, the bid of Downtown Ford Sales at the unit price stated in its bid was and is
the lowest and best bid for said equipment and said bidder is the lowest responsible bidder
therefor;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
San Rafael that the bid of Downtown Ford Sales and the same is hereby accepted at said
unit price and that the purchase order for said vehicles be and the same is hereby awarded
to said Downtown Ford Sales, at the unit price mentioned in said bid.
RESOLVED, FURTHER, that the Director of Public Works is hereby
authorized to take any and all such actions and make changes as may be necessary to
accomplish the purpose of this Resolution.
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify that the foregoing
resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of
said City on the 4th day of August, 2003, by the following vote, to wit:

Realizing some agencies would not be able to meet the May 16`h cutoff for ordering
Police Sedans and F -Series Trucks we ordered additional vehicles to have available.
These vehicles are equipped with the most popular options. Please look over the attached
pages to determine which group best suits your requirements in Police Sedans.
We have numerous combinations of F -Series Truck, some equipped with bodies. Please
let us know your specific needs and we will determine if we have a truck that meets those
needs.
Some of these vehicles are here and ready for immediate delivery, others are in various
stages of production.
Please place your orders as soon as possible to insure availability. These vehicles can be
purchased under the State of California Contract #1-03-23-14-01 for Police Sedans and
State of California Contract #1-03-23-20 for the Trucks.
