HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC Resolution 11433 (Code Enforcement Grants)RESOLUTION NO. 11433 RESOLUTION OF THE SAN RAFAEL CITY COUNCIL AUTHORIZING THE USE OF CODE ENFORCEMENT GRANT FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $106,897.00 FROM THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA, DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT WHEREAS, the City of San Rafael has been granted an allocation of funds in an amount not to exceed $106,897.00 through the Department of Housing and Community Development's Code Enforcement Grant Program (CEGP), and WHEREAS, the California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) has issued a Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) for the Code Enforcement Grant Program established by SB 1227 — Burton (Health and Safety Code section 53533[a]6), whereby HCD is authorized to approve funding allocations for the program, subject to the terms and conditions of the Notice of Funding Availability and program application forms, and WHEREAS, the purpose of this grant program is to provide capital expenditure funding in support of code enforcement activities related to housing maintenance or compliance, NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that: 1) The City Council authorizes the use of an allocation of funds not to exceed $106,897.00 from the State of California Code Enforcement Grant Program. 2) The City of San Rafael hereby agrees to use the funds for eligible capital assets in the manner presented in the application as approved by HCD and in accordance with NOFA and application package, to execute any and all instruments required by HCD for participation in the Code Enforcement Grant Program and to use, support and maintain the capital assets acquired with the grant funds for at least three years. 3) The City of San Rafael authorizes the Community Development Director, to execute in the name of the City of San Rafael, the Standard Agreement and all other documents required by HCD for participation in the Code Enforcement Grant Program. I, JEANNE M.
