CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
PRESENTS THIS
RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION
TO
MERRITT HEWITT
WHEREAS, the City of San Rafael Fire Department is an active participant in the
California Master Mutual Aid Agreement; and
WHEREAS, San Rafael Division Chiefs have responded in support of the
California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection and California Office of
Emergency Service Fire and Rescue Division; and
WHEREAS, San Rafael Division Chiefs have responded as Strike Team Leaders
to fires and earthquakes as far north as the Oregon border and as far south as San
Bernardino County; and
WHEREAS, San Rafael Division Chiefs have always exhibited professionalism
and courage, many times placing themselves in perilous positions to save life and
property of individuals they don't know or will never meet; and
WHEREAS, this same courage and dedication is demonstrated in their own City
and Mutual Aid requests within Marin County, Vision Fire being a prime example.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL acknowledge
Chief Hewitt's commitment to protecting the citizens of California in a time of
need and his dedication to saving life and property in San Rafael and throughout
the State of California.
