RESOLUTION NO. 11046
RESOLUTION OF THE SAN RAFAEL CITY COUNCIL AWARDING
CONTRACT FOR PURCHASE OF THIRTEEN VEHICLE -MOUNTED
COMPUTERS TO PALOMAR DISPLAY PRODUCTS, INC. IN THE AMOUNT
OF $99,270.60.
Whereas, the City's Technology Strategic Plan includes the implementation of a
new Computer Aided Dispatch/Records Management System; and,
Whereas, the acquisition of vehicle -mounted computer hardware is an integral
part of the new Computer Aided Dispatch/Records Management System Project;
and,
Whereas, the Police Department currently has 7 vehicle -mounted computers
manufactured by Palomar Display Products, Inc. as part of a county -wide
cooperative purchase made in December, 2001.
Whereas, the Police Department required an additional thirteen vehicle -mounted
computers compatible with the existing vehicle -mounted computers; and,
Whereas, the same model vehicle -mounted computer is only available from
Palomar Display Products, Inc.; and,
Whereas, the City Council finds it is appropriate to waive public bidding pursuant
to Section 2.55.070D of the San Rafael Municipal Code, and to authorize a sole -
source purchase from Palomar Display Products, Inc., since the same vehicle -
mounted computer system is only available from that source;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Manager of said City be
authorized and directed to execute a purchase order or agreement, in a form
approved by the City Attorney, for the purchase of thirteen vehicle -mounted
computers with Palomar Display Products, Inc. in the amount of $99,270.60.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Assistant City Manager is hereby
authorized to take any and all such actions and make changes and expedite
such agreements, in a form approved by the City Attorney, as may be necessary
to accomplish the purpose of this resolution.

I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify that the
foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular
meeting of the San Rafael City Council meeting held on the eighteenth day of
March, 2002 by the following vote, to wit:
