A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN
RAFAEL SELECTING THE FIRMS OF BRIAN WITTENKELLER
AND ASSOCIATES AND BRIAN POWELL AND ASSOCIATES TO
PREPARE A CONCEPTUAL PLAN FOR THE NORTH SAN
RAFAEL PROMENADE, AUTHORIZING THE PUBLIC WORKS
DIRECTOR TO SIGN AN AGREEMENT AND TO ALLOCATE AN
ADDITIIONAL $4,000 TO FULLY FUND THIS PROPOSAL
BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of San Rafael as follows:
WHEREAS, the City Council has engaged in a community process
through the Vision in Action Committee in North San Rafael; and
WHEREAS, the process resulted in the creation of a vision for the
community that included the implementation of a bicycle and pedestrian promenade; and
WHEREAS, the City Council allocated fiords toward the preparation of a
conceptual plan and authorized staff to seek proposals from qualified firms; and
WHEREAS, City staff and members of the Vision in Action (VIA)
Committee have recommended a firm to perform this work;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
San Rafael that the firms of Brian Wittenkeller and Associates and Brian Powell and
Associates are selected to perform the conceptual plan for the North San Rafael
Promenade; and
RESOLVED, FURTHER, that the Council does hereby authorize the
Public Works Director to sign an agreement in a form to be approved by the City
Attorney; and

RESOLVED, FURTHER, that the City Council hereby allocates an
additional $4,000 to fully fund the project.

the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of
the Council of said City on the 6"' day of May, 2002, by the following vote, to wit:
