RESOLUTION NO. 11121
CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
PRESENTS THIS
RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION
TO
CANAL COMMUNITY ALLIANCE
WHEREAS, the Canal Community Alliance has served the residents of the Canal
neighborhoods for the past twenty years. In good times and bad, the
Canal Community Alliance provides needed services, education, and
support for those beginning to climb up the economic ladder; and
WHEREAS, whether it is in English as a second language or new immigrant services,
childcare or youth services, healthcare or housing, the Canal Community
Alliance strives to help people, young and old, improve their lives in the
most diverse, densely populated are of Marin; and
WHEREAS, the City of San Rafael has been pleased to partner with the Canal
Community Alliance over the years to accomplish a number of important
goals, including the initial building of the Pickleweed Community Center,
and
WHEREAS, the Canal neighborhoods add cultural breadth and variety to
San Rafael, and the Canal Community Alliance is an important part of
this community fabric; and
WHEREAS, the City of San Rafael also recognizes the great efforts of Tom Wilson,
who has been the Executive Director of the Canal Community Alliance for
the past ten years. Tom's compassion and deep commitment have
touched and enriched the lives of so many.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council of the City of San
Rafael hereby congratulate the Canal Community Alliance on its twentieth anniversary, and
express sincere thanks and appreciation to the staff and the current and past members of the
Board of Directors for all they have accomplished, and for all their future endeavors.
