RESOLUTION NO. 11145
CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
PRESENTS THIS
RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION
MISSION SAN RAFAEL FOR ROTARY ISLAND
W NERZEAS, ROTARY ISLAND is a highly visible landscape island at the intersection of Lincoln
Avenue and Third Street, which is heavily traveled and is in a very prominent location;
and
WREIZEAS, volunteer members of the ROTARY CLUB OF MISSION SAN RAFAEL, under the
leadership of its President, Steve Hill, worked long hours and many weekends to make
extensive improvements to ROTARY ISLAND for the benefit of all citizens and visitors;
and
1A HEIZEAS, ROTARY ISLAND now beautifies our fair City of San Rafael thanks to their project,
which ingluded a complete new design, grading and berms, dozens of new trees and
plants, a new irrigation system and provisions for maintaining its appearance for many
years to come; and
WHEREAS, through the cooperation of the Marin Municipal Water District the water permit was
expedited, thus allowing the project to move forward; and
WHEREAS, many people and companies donated time, expertise and material, such as rock,
topsoil, trees, plants and mulch, including Jack Grimes Landscaping, Marin Sanitary
Service, Marin Signs, Marin Color, Kennedy Landscape Architect, Dibble Landscaping,
San Rafael Rock Quarry, and Wilson/Equity Office, with a monetary contribution;
NOW, T E?-EFORiE, 8E IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council of the City of San Rafael,
on behalf of all its citizens, extend their thanks and appreciation to the ROTARY CLUB OF MISSION
SAN RAFAEL for visually enhancing the City of San Rafael, thus helping to make our city a better place
to live and work.
