RESOLUTION OF THE SAN RAFAEL CITY COUNCIL APPROVING USE OF
FEDERAL LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDS IN THE
AMOUNT OF $67,349.00 FOR COMMUNITY POLICING
Whereas, the United States Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice
Assistance granted the City of San Rafael $67,349 in block grant
funds; and,
Whereas, this block grant money may be spent to pay costs associated with
Community Policing and Crime Prevention; and,
Whereas, the City of San Rafael will supplement the award with a match of
$7,483 from the COPS, Patrol and Youth Services programs; and,
Whereas, the Department will use those funds for Community Oriented Public
Safety programs, at -risk youth programs and small equipment; and,
Whereas, the City Council must approve use of the grant funds to begin the
Process of grant approval;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council approves the use
Of $67,349 plus the Match amount of $7,483 in Local Law Enforcement Block
Grant funds.
I, Jeanne M. Leoncini, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify that the
foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular
meeting of the San Rafael City Council meeting held on the 7th day of October
2002 by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS: Cohen, Heller, Phillips & Mayor Boro
NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: None
ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: Miller
