PRESENTS THIS
RESOLUTION DF i1PPREEIRTION
TO
KATHY DEVLIN, San Rafael Fire Commissioner
WHEREAS, Kathy actively participated on the San Rafael Fire Commission at monthly
meetings bringing humor, wisdom, and intelligent solutions to every meeting; and
WHEREAS, the Fire Department over the years has come to depend upon her
participation to educate the community about vegetation management and she has willingly
worked on writing and distributing information that has educated the homeowners in the City of
San Rafael about Fire Protection; and
WHEREAS, Kathy Devlin devoted many hours to work with and support
Paramedic Tax Measure Committees in which her participation was a positive influence resulting in
success for each measure; and
WHEREAS, Kathy has a combination of extraordinary intelligence, memory and knowledge
of History about San Rafael and its Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, when asked, Kathy was always willing to help and work on a project to aid
campaigns that promoted public safety for every need of the City of San Rafael and its Fire
Department and when needed she included participation by her family; and
WHEREAS, if a system needed to be developed, a mailing designed or a cause needed to
be spearheaded, even if the numbers were in the thousands, Kathy was there and she often came
up with the language to make the mailings seem personal to every person in San Rafael; and
WHEREAS, all the Fire Commission members, City Council, all members of the Fire
Department and Fire Chief have expressed that Kathy's presence will be sorely missed,
particularly her mind and perennial smile;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council thank Kathy
Devlin for 12 years of dedicated service as a San Rafael Fire Commissioner in which she faithfully
served the residents and visitors of the City of San Rafael and employees of the Fire Department.
