Rosa, a long-time resident of the Canal area. He stated Ms. Rosa has worked
at the Ministry for years, and has put together the Women's group and a number
of other excellent programs provided by the Canal Ministry. Mr. Miller noted
Ms. Rosa explained the reason she accepted the Directorship was because of the
outstanding Healthy Community grant, which will be directed through the Canal
Ministry. Mr. Miller stated this was a pivotal grant that will change the
direction of the entire Canal neighborhood, noting it is the most far reaching
of any other grant in that community, as it is directed to the residents, and
toward developing the residents to their own self-determination.
