RE: DISCUSSION OF PROPOSED HIGH SCHOOL CONSOLIDATION PROGRAM

a. POTENTIAL LAND USE ALTERNATIVES
Mayor Mulryan called the meeting to order at 7:15 p.m. He indicated
the purpose of the meeting was to bring the City Council up
to date on the process for a decision on the school consolidation
process.
Board Member Bruce Scott passed out various materials and a
general discussion followed concerning the financial status
of the School District. The discussion centered around the
following points:
September 1986 closure - decision on May 14 as to which
school.
Discussion of traffic impacts.
Different uses possible at each site.
. Pros/cons of sale or lease.
. Taking a look at bicycle route from Terra Linda to San
Rafael High School.
Meeting with Anne Moore and City/Schools Liaison Committee
meeting.

Assistant City Manager Pam Nicolai reported on the status of
the bond sale and continuing discussions at the staff level
betweeen the City and School District on the redevelopment list
of school projects.
The Special Joint Meeting was adjourned to the next regular
meeting to be held on February 19, 1 85:
