RESOLUTION OF THE SAN RAFAEL CITY COUNCIL APPROVING USE OF
STATE COPS PROGRAM SUPPLEMENTAL SERVICES FUNDS IN THE
AMOUNT OF $113,799 FOR COMMUNITY ORIENTED POLICING
Whereas, the Governor of the State of California signed the Budget Act of 2001
which continued the Supplemental Law Enforcement Services Fund and
allocated $113,799 to the City of San Rafael for Fiscal Year 01-02; and,
Whereas, the Legislature mandated this money be spent for front line law
enforcement purposes: and,
Whereas, the City Council has set a priority of implementing Community
Oriented Public Safety; and,
Whereas, the City Council has previously approved the use of SLESF money for
police overtime for Community Oriented Policing during the 2000/2001 city
budget hearings; and,
Whereas, the Marin County's Supplemental Law Enforcement Oversight
Committee requires a spending plan for final approval of fund use;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council approves the use
of $113,799 in Supplemental Law Enforcement Services funds for police
overtime for Community Oriented Policing.
I, Jeanne M. Leoncini, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify that the
foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted
at a regular meeting of the San Rafael City Council meeting held on
the 3rd day of December, 2001 by the following vote, to wit:
