HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC Resolution 10658 (San Quentin Work Crew)RESOLUTION NO. 10658 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO EXTEND AN AGREEMENT WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS FOR THE SAN QUENTIN WORK CREW, EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2000 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2002. BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of San Rafael as follows: WHEREAS, San Quentin State Prison has provided an inmate work crew for a variety of maintenance projects in San Rafael (and other Marin cities and towns) since 1994; and WHEREAS, at $10,000 per municipality per year, the work crew is a highly effective, low cost supplement to tasks performed by San Rafael's Public Works Department employees; and WHEREAS, the San Rafael Department of Public Works is the lead administrative agency between the California Department of Corrections and participating Marin cities and towns; and WHEREAS, the existing agreement between Marin cities and towns and the California Department of Corrections has expired. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of San Rafael does hereby authorize the City Manager to extend the agreement with the Department of Corrections governing the San Quentin work crew, effective July 1, 2000 through June 30, 2002, in a form to be approved by the City Attorney. ] {� I ©RMU AL \ I, JEANNE M.
