RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SAN RAFAEL IN SUPPORT OF MULTI -MOBILE'S PILOT
SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOL PROGRAM AT VALLECITO
ELEMENTARY SCHOOL.
WHEREAS, Vallecito School has been chosen as one of the pilot schools for multi
mobile's Safe Routes to Schools Program; and
WHEREAS, the Safe Routes to Schools program would take place during the
2000/2001 school year; and
WHEREAS, there are several existing bicycle and pedestrian paths in our community,
as well as sidewalks and bicycle lanes, that could be used as school routes through
more community education, promotion and cooperation; and
WHEREAS, the process will result in the formation of a Task Force at Vallecito school
that will include parents, neighborhood members, teachers and a representative from
the San Rafael Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee to guide the program.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of San Rafael
does hereby support the Safe Routes to Schools Pilot program at Vallecito School.
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify that the foregoing
resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the City
Council of said City held on Tuesdav the 5th day of September, 2000, by the following
vote, to wit:
AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS: Cohen, Miller, Phillips and Mayor Boro
NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: None
ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: Heller
