RESOLUTION NO. 9472
CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
PRESENTS THIS
RESOUITION OF dPPRECIIITIGN
TO

WHEREAS, the San Rafael community came together to describe the
Downtown they desired in Our Vision of Downtown San
Rafael; and
WHEREAS, the community Vision includes beautiful, tree lined streets
that are pleasant to walk; and
WHEREAS, a stalwart group of volunteers declared themselves to be the
organization Downtown Trees, and gathered community
efforts to plant 100 street trees; and
WHEREAS, Kiwanis Club demonstrated their civic responsibility, their
committment to community spirit and volunteer action by
participating in the tree planting project; and
WHEREAS, Kiwanis Club brought their shovels and work gloves to
Downtown on the evening of August 24, 1995, and planted
street trees.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council, on
behalf of all its citizens, hereby express sincere appreciation and
gratitude to Kiwanis Club for their efforts in making Our
Vision for Downtown San Rafael come alive.
