RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 8771 AND NO. 8926 AUTHORIZING THE
CHIEF OF POLICE TO APPLY FOR A CONTINUATION OF A STATE OF
CALIFORNIA, OFFICE OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE PLANNING ( OCJP )
CRIME PREVENTION GRANT ( THIRD YEAR ).
WHEREAS, the State of California, Office of Criminal Justice Planning ( OCJP )
allocates funds for various grant projects; and
WHEREAS, the Chief of Police is authorized to apply for such grant funds meeting the
funding guidelines of OCJP; and
WHEREAS, the grant requested is the third year of a three year grant to assist in the
funding of a crime prevention program to impact specific issues identified in the Canal
Area of East San Rafael, and
WHEREAS, the City of San Rafael agrees to provide all matching funds required for
said project ( including any amendment thereof ) under the program and the funding
terms and conditions of OCJP and that the cash match will be appropriated as required,
and
WHEREAS, it is agreed that any liability arising out of the performance of this grant
award agreement, including civil court actions for damages, shall be the responsibility
of the grant recipient and the authorizing agency. The State of California and OCJP
disclaim responsibility for any such liability.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Chief of Police is authorized to
submit a grant application to the State of California, Office of Criminal Justice
Planning (OCJP ) to continue funding a crime prevention program specifically limited
to the Canal area of East San Rafael, and is authorized to execute on behalf of the City
Council of the City of San Rafael, the Grant Award Agreement including any
extensions or amendments thereof.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that grant funds received hereunder shall not be used to
supplant expenditures controlled by this body.
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, do hereby certify that the
foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular
meeting of the City Council of said City held on Monday the 21st day of March, 1994,
by the following vote, to wit:
