A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
ADOPTING EARLY RETIREMENT PROGRAM QUALIFICATIONS AND CONDITIONS.
WHEREAS, Government Code Section 31641.04 permits the City
Council, by Resolution, to determine that because of savings in money or
other economic benefit to the City a member shall be eligible to receive
two years of additional service credit for retirement purposes; and
WHEREAS, the actuarial study conducted by The Segal Company in
October, 1992 has demonstrated that the City of San Rafael would realize
significant savings through reduced retirement contributions and other
payroll savings by offering an early retirement program to employees
otherwise eligible to retire who occupy the classifications of Public
Works Superintendent, Parks Superintendent and Police Lieutenant.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of San Rafael authorizes offering an early retirement program which
provides for two additional years of service credit under the following
conditions:
1. To those employees eligible to retire in the classifications of
Public Works Superintendent, Parks Superintendent, and Police
Lieutenant.
2. Employees must select a retirement date which is implemented
and in effect between December 31, 1992 and June 28, 1993.
3. Employees must notify their department head and the City
Manager of their intent to avail themselves of the early retirement
program no later than December 31, 1992.
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby
certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced
and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of said City held
on Monday, the sixteenth day of November, 1992 by the following vote, to
wit:
