HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC Resolution 8295 (1990 Special Election Results)RESOLUTION NO. 8295 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL DECLARING CANVASS OF RETURNS AND RESULTS OF SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION (CONSOLIDATED WITH THE GENERAL ELECTION) HELD ON NOVEMBER 6, 1990 WHEREAS, in pursuance of law and the Charter of the City of San Rafael, there was held in said City on Tuesday, the 6th day of November, 1990, a special municipal election (consolidated with the General Election) for the purpose of submitting to the electors of the City of San Rafael the following measure: MEASURE L - PROPOSED INITIATIVE ORDINANCE TO AMEND SAN RAFAEL GENERAL PLAN AND ZONING ORDINANCE CHANGING THE USE OF LANDS TO AGRICULTURAL Shall the City of San Rafael amend its General Plan and Zoning Ordinance to change the land use planning designation of lands owned by Silveira, Northwestern Pacific Railroad, Las Gallinas Valley Sanitary District, and the Youth Activities of the Catholic Archdiocese of San Francisco (St. Vincent's), to agricultural; and thus restrict uses and construction on those lands to existing or agricultural uses only? WHEREAS, said special municipal election (consolidated with the General Election) was held on Tuesday, November 6, 1990, in accordance with law and the votes thereat received and canvassed, and the returns thereof ascertained, determined and declared in all respects as required by law: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of San Rafael, as follows: 1. That the City Clerk of the City of San Rafael be, and is hereby, instructed to enter this resolution in the minutes of the City Council as a statement of the results of said election. 2. That the whole number of votes cast at said election was 19,033 votes. 3. That less than a majority of all the votes cast on said Measure L were in favor of said Measure, and said Measure failed. 4.
