RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN
RAFAEL AUTHORIZING ADDITIONAL FUNDS FOR CON-
STRUCTION OF PEACOCK GAP PARK AND FOR EXTENSION
TO THE MAINTENANCE CONTRACT WITH BAUMAN
LANDSCAPE, INC.
WHEREAS, at the start of construction of Peacock Gap Park, it was apparent
that allowable funding for the project was limited with only a minimal amount available
for contingencies; and
WHEREAS, two large change orders had to be issued on unanticipated items
of work dealing with public safety; and
WHEREAS, the cost of these two change orders alone exceeded $26,000; and
WHEREAS, said cost could not be accommodated within the contingency
amount, thereby creating a cost overrun of approximately $15,000; and
WHEREAS, the project work included an initial three month maintenance
period for the park and bathrooms; and
WHEREAS, said maintenance period expired on August 31, 1990; and
WHEREAS, City's Park Division is presently short two positions and unable
to provide additional park maintenance at this time; and
WHEREAS, Bauman Landscape, Inc. has offered to extend their landscape
maintenance contract for an additional three months for $9,000 in order to continue
providing necessary park maintenance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of San
