Re: Anticipated Marin SBDC Services in Exchange for $10,000 Contribution
Ms. Karell,
This letter is to memorialize our mutual understanding of the terms under which the City of
San Rafael will provide a contribution of $10,000 to the Marin Small Business Development
Center (SBDC) for services provided between July 1, 2017 and June 30, 2018. The $10,000
contribution will be administered through Dominican University of California as they are the
host for the Marin SBDC.
The mission of the Marin SBDC is to create jobs, foster innovation, and help create new
businesses through providing free consulting services to small businesses within the county
of Marin. The City of San Rafael is making its $10,000 contribution to assist the Marin SBDC
in its overall mission and specifically to provide business consulting services to businesses
located within the City of San Rafael. The City of San Rafael and Marin SBDC have agreed that
Marin SBDC will provide consulting services to San Rafael based businesses at a similar level
to what was provided to San Rafael business clients in the years 2014-2016.
The goals with this contribution will be to maintain the economic impacts outlined by the
Small Business Administration (SBA) which are to help clients create new jobs and
businesses, improve skills such as marketing and customer relations, and ultimately
increase sales and raise capital investments. Specifically in San Rafael, the SBDC will help at
least 50 business owners with one-on-one advising to achieve these economic impacts.
Please sign below to indicate your agreement to implement this program as described above.
