RESOLUTION OF THE SAN RAFAEL CITY COUNCIL
AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS TO
NEGOTIATE AN AGREEMENT FOR THE PURCHASE OF
STREET LIGHTING FACILITIES
WHEREAS, the City of San Rafael desires to reduce the energy
costs of providing street lighting; and
WHEREAS, City's purchase of street lighting facilities will
entitle the City to be billed pursuant to the LS-2 rate for energy to
power said street lights; and
WHEREAS, the LS-2 rate will result in substantial reduction in
energy costs for the City of San Rafael; and
WHEREAS, the City wishes to expedite the initiation of the LS-2
rate for street lighting within the City of San Rafael; and
WHEREAS, said initiation will be expedited by the City's entering
into an agreement with Pacific Gas & Electric Company to purchase the
aforementioned street lighting facilities.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved, by the San Rafael City Council that:
1. The Director of the Department of Public Works is hereby
authorized and directed, on behalf of the City of San
Rafael, to negotiate the final agreement with Pacific
Gas & Electric Company to acquire the above described
street lighting facilities.
2. This resolution takes effect immediately from this day
forward.
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, California,
hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly
introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of said
City on Monday, the 1st day of August, 1983, by the following vote, to wit:
